Corresponding Members represent WAM at a local level, they are the link between the committee and Microbiologists across the UK. Operating from their own departments and playing an integral role in steering the committee as well as raising awareness of regional and national events, including the biannual symposium and evening meetings.
"I wasn’t sure what to expect when I became a corresponding member for WAM. But what I’ve gained has been great and has helped my throughout my career".
"I’ve made strong friendships and links with other laboratories which has helped if we’ve had a problem or we’re trialling new equipment. I’ve also personally gained a lot more confidence within myself from organising the evening meetings as I’ve had to contact companies for sponsorship and speakers with interesting topics".
We currently have a network of 20 Corresponding Members, however are always looking for more representivies to get involved. If you're interetsed in becoming a Corresponding Member for your lab, department, clinic or hospital, please do get in touch.
"I’ve always been supported, it’s a great group and I’m proud to be part of WAM".
